Improve Your Smile, Improve Your Life

Whether your tooth loss was caused by decay, trauma or gum disease, it can impact your oral and systemic health, as well as your emotional well-being. The physical repercussions of loose or missing teeth include shifting and decay in adjacent teeth, advanced gum disease, bone loss, undesirable facial changes and compromised nutrition. In some cases, missing teeth can even trigger a negative chain that could affect your systemic health! Not only that, but the emotional repercussions can be equally devastating, including diminished self-confidence and damage to your personal and professional life. Regardless of the underlying cause of your missing teeth, full mouth dental implants in Hialeah, FL will provide a significant and dramatic transformation!

Personalized Solutions, All Under One Roof

At Progressive Dental Office Cosmetic and Implant Center, our skilled implant dentist Dr. Edek Gonzalez uses different solutions for failing or missing teeth. Options include full and partial dentures, implant supported dentures and full mouth dental implants. At your initial consultation, Dr. Gonzalez will help you select the best protocol to meet your smile needs and budget. Even if you have active gum disease, inadequate bone to support dental implants, or you need teeth extracted, Dr. Gonzalez has the expertise to help you become an ideal candidate for full mouth dental implants in Hialeah, FL! He also offers innovative implant protocols that often eliminate the need for bone grafting.

All-on-4® is a proven full mouth protocol that, as the name implies, relies on four strategically positioned implants to support each arch of your new teeth. This approach enables Dr. Gonzalez to provide immediate load implants, crafted from polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) by our skilled technician in our on-site lab. These provisional restorations can withstand pressure, without the need to wait for the bone to heal around them. We also offer TeethToday™, Teeth Tomorrow®, Hybridge® full arch implants and zirconia fixed bridges.

Your Options

Although every patient who visits our practice has their own unique needs and circumstances, we generally recommend full mouth dental implants over traditional dentures. Removable dentures, typically fabricated from acrylic or nylon, are positioned on your gums. And while dentures are made to fit snugly against your gums, over time they can loosen due to ongoing bone loss, causing them to click, slip or fall out. Discomfort, embarrassment, removing them for cleaning and the need for messy adhesives are common complaints among denture wearers. Dental implants are small rods or screws made from biocompatible titanium, surgically placed into your jawbone. Once they fuse with your bone, dental implants take the place of natural tooth roots and provide strong, durable support for new teeth. Dental implants prevent the sunken-in look associated with traditional dentures as well as ongoing bone loss, and they actually encourage new bone growth! They’re incredibly versatile because they can be used for fixed or removable implant supported dentures or they can replace an entire upper and/or lower arch.

Steps in Your Smile Transformation

1

Step 1: Personalized Consultation

Although most adults who visit our practice are already candidates for full mouth dental implants in Hialeah, FL, Dr. Gonzalez will evaluate your oral health to determine if preliminary treatments are required. This evaluation includes an oral exam and a conversation about your medical history and any current conditions or lifestyle factors (e.g., smoking) that could influence the outcome of implant surgery. We use cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) because it yields many images in a matter of seconds. These are combined into a single 3D image, which Dr. Gonzalez uses to evaluate your jawbone health, sinuses and nerves, in order to guide precise, strategic placement of the implants. Before you leave, we’ll schedule your implant surgery procedure.

Step 2: Precise Dental Implant Placement

Our practice is fully digital and all our restorations are created at our on-site lab using CAD/CAM technology to ensure the best quality and fit. In addition to numbing your implant sites with a local anesthetic, we offer nitrous oxide and oral sedation for your ultimate comfort. In some cases, Dr. Gonzalez can extract remaining teeth during this appointment. After sedation has taken effect, he identifies optimal areas in your jawbone using surgical guides, then makes small incisions in your gums where the implants will be placed. Implant screws are placed in your jawbone and a connector called an abutment is attached to each implant. Our in-house milling machine enables our lab technician to create immediate load full arch dental implants, crafted with precision at our on-site lab in Hialeah, FL. This enables you to walk out the same day as surgery with a functional and attractive smile.

Step 3: Healing and Final Restoration

It takes dental implants three to six months to fuse with new bone growth in your jaw in a process called osseointegration. Proper osseointegration is essential for dental implants to act like natural tooth roots and provide a strong and long-lasting foundation for your new teeth. Your custom-made prosthesis is crafted from high-quality and durable porcelain, which offers excellent strength and aesthetics, resists stains and fractures, is wear-resistant, and looks and feels like your natural teeth. Dr. Gonzalez and our lab technician will check to make sure your new teeth fit perfectly, and if necessary, they can easily make small adjustments. Because full mouth dental implants restore 99% of biting and chewing power, you’ll be able to eat all the foods you love without limitations. When you leave our practice, you’ll enjoy a huge boost in self-esteem, which will give you a great reason to use your new smile!
